Playoff blog extension....

So, I already established my preferred method for playoff in a previous blog. Now I am going to project what would happen if it were in place. (For the record, I said the games could be played in the Bowls... and that is a big fat lie. There is no way you can ask a fan base to travel across the country for 3 to 4 weeks in a row. It would just have to be a home/away deal like the NFL.)

Bama vs LSU -- Keys to Victory

1. Terrence Cody - How much will he play? What percent will he be playing at? We will need him to be full force in order to get a stranglehold on Charles Scott. While I think that Chapman is a fine NT, Mt. Cody is the double-teamer/run-stopper that we need against a run-first team.

2. Special Teams- A big special teams play is the easiest way to take a crowd out or get the crowd back into the game. The crowd will play a big factor in this game, not to mention our struggles all year in this area. We can't give up easy and quick points.

3. Rashad Johnson- We can't allow Lafell and Byrd get behind us. Big plays simply can't happen if we want to be successful.

4. Fumbles- Coffee needs to hold onto the ball and I know no one has forgotten JPW's debacle last year.


All that being said, I see us controlling the Line on offense and holding our defense limiting big plays.

Roscoe's College Football Playoff System

Okay, so there is always the debate of a college football playoff. Here is my two cents. All BCS conferences are going to be forced to have a conference championship for fairness' sake.

Big10 Champ
Big12 Champ
SEC Champ
Pac10 Champ
Big East Champ
ACC Champ
Six at large bids

The BCS ranks these teams 1-12.

Week 1: 1-4 Get byes. (1)5v12, (2)6v11, (3)7,10, (4)8v9.
Week 2: 1v(4) winner, 2v(3) winner, 3v(2) winner, 4v(1) winner
Week 3: Semi-finals
Week 4: Championship (and third place game)

You could make these games sponsored by and played in the bowls if you want to keep all the sponsors happy. So that is my first of many rants.
